Getting Started With Home Delivery
We do a preliminary credit check before starting delivery. Please click on the link for an authorization form, which you may either fax or mail to us. If the credit check meets our requirements, delivery will start on the next delivery day. Your street address determines the day or days of delivery.
We require a minimum weekly order of 2 half gallons of milk, or a combination of products, to start home delivery. We deliver once a week in most areas of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Hampton, Poquoson, Newport News and parts of York County. As of March, 2004, we are expanding into portions of Williamsburg and Suffolk. A minimum order of 5 half-gallons per week is necessary for twice a week delivery in those areas where it is available.
An insulated milk box may be purchased to protect your delivery from the weather.
Reusable plastic caps and pouring spouts are also available for your convenience.
DELIVERY TIMES
Our milkmen make their deliveries between the hours of 12:30 and 7:00 am. To insure freshness, each truck is loaded with the minimum amount of dairy products needed for each route.
You will probably wish to have a "standing order," which you receive on each delivery. If you need to make a change to your order, either a permanent change or a temporary one, please call the office by NOON of the business day before the delivery to be changed. This is necessary in order to properly adjust the load on each truck for that night's deliveries. Leaving a note for your milkman is not a good idea, as it may not be possible for him to adjust your order with the product he is carrying on the truck. In addition, notes can be misunderstood or even not noticed in the dark.
Most of our products are delivered in returnable glass bottles. When you empty a bottle, it should be washed and set out for the driver to pick up on the next delivery day.
PLEASE NOTE that deliveries are made as usual on any holiday that falls on a normal delivery day. If you are planning to be away on a holiday, please make sure the office knows that you do not want your milk delivered on that day.
BILLINGYour milkman will leave a bill each month, usually on the first delivery day of the month. This bill covers the previous calendar month.
Payment (no cash, please) may be left with the empty bottles on the next delivery, or it may be mailed to us. Since your bill is not submitted until the month after the delivery, it is due upon receipt. Payments received after the 20th of the month may be subject to a service charge. To show our appreciation for our prompt paying customers, we offer a 4.5% discount to all retail customers who pay promptly and who have an order of $35.00 or more per month.
We make every effort to insure that your bill is correct. If you feel that something on your bill is in error, or you have questions about the quantities or costs shown on the bill, please call the office and ask to speak to the bookkeeper.
